How to deal with summer heat can sometimes be the environment you are plating in, and the chemicals you are plating with are too hot. This happens especially in the summer heat chrome plating scenario. During these times, the chemical reaction during the chrome plating process happens too quickly. This CAN POSSIBLY cause staining on your part. These stains could include streaks, white blotches, yellow-brownish stains as well as foggy spots.
If the part you are plating is large, the summer (or otherwise) heat could result in a foggy finish. In an ideal setting, you should be able to regulate the temperature of your spray booth. Your spray booth and chemicals should remain at a standard room temperature; 23 to 26°C (73.4 to 78.8°F)
EXTREME HEAT may cause difficulties in achieving optimal results, especially on large surfaces.
If you do not have a temperature-regulated spray booth, always store chemicals and paints in a cool place and schedule your plating application work early in the morning when temperatures are lower and your plating solutions are cooler.
During times of extreme heat, refrigerating the plating solutions prior to using them will help to achieve optimal results. Please contact our tech team for further details.
